Many times pastor has had one of us call the police and/or put a restraining order on our own family member. These individuals pose no danger, except in pastor’s mind. He just wants to prevent them from talking with us. They might convince us of the truth.
Getting us to call the police is so odious, so infamous, so destructive, so false (giving the appearance of wrong-doing), that it usually drives a wedge that few relationships overcome.
Only the Godly will refuse to participate in evil deeds such as this. Or to ask forgiveness for calling the police on their own husband, wife, parents, children at pastor’s direction.
May God forgive us for what we have become.
But God says, “For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely” (Jeremiah 6:13). “Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord” (Leviticus 19:18). “But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren” (1 Corinthians 6:6-8).
