But God says, “They that see you shall gaze upon you, and consider you, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms?” (Isaiah 14:16). “But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to endure his indignation” (Jeremiah 10:10). “Fear you not me? says the LORD: will you not tremble at my presence, who has placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though its waves toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?” (Jeremiah 5:22). “I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast forever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end” (Daniel 6:26). “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD comes, for it is near at hand” (Joel 2:1).
The aggressive behavior of some of our leadership is legendary; either through first hand experience or rumors. Because close friends of Pastor will not be subjected to this tactic, it serves as a method of crowd control. A bid to baffle and keep all of us uneasy. After being shouted at by Pastor, we are often shell-shocked, offer a few respectful protests, then are silent. The scorn which we (especially the ladies) are treated in these private meetings is debilitating. We become desperate for Pastor’s favor, although we have done nothing wrong. We “stand down” to the manipulation/abuse in order to re-obtain our imaginary unity.
Bludgeoned into accepting Pastor’s verdict. Longing to see the “good cop” once again. Confused, coerced, cornered and finally cooperating with something that deep down, we know is wrong. Sinning against our own conscience. WARNING: do not agree with what you know is wrong. Stand your ground, and having done all, stand. (Ephesians 6:13,14)
But God says, “So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man” (Acts 24:16). “I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 9:1). “For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you” (2 Corinthians 1:12). “The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith” (1 Timothy 1:5).
We all have propagated the lie – “No church has ever loved me as much as Calvary Temple.” (Love bombing is a bit more accurate.) It’s not genuine love of Christ. We are just doing what is required by Pastor in order to keep us from fleeing in droves. Not everyone here is a willing participant. Some are coerced into destroying – and some (about 40%) are destroyed. But always under the banner of “this is the love of God to you.” Right…more like the love of Cain for Abel.
But God says, “If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other” (Galatians 5:15). “For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous” (1 John 3:11,12).
In Greek, the word “love” (from 1 John 3:11) is “agapaó” and it means, “To welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly, brotherly love, good will, benevolence.”
Some recent posts on our official church-sanctioned blog promoting the ministry of Calvary Temple (i.e. Pastor Scott) are just damage control/public relations gimmicks.
First, any one of us can quote a decent sermon from 100 legitimate sources. Second, what is the background/biography of these writers? Blogger/Stooge #1 put his wife out of our church for 8 months to break her of sin, has cut off all four of his children. Blogger/Stooge #2 has put away her father, her mother, her sister, and her small nephew to break them on Pastor’s orders. Blogger/Stooge #3 left her husband because he wanted to leave our church and he questioned leadership. He wanted her to leave with him, she refused on pastor’s orders and has refused to allow him access to his little daughters.
But God says, “They shall put you out of the synagogues; yea, the time cometh that whosoever kills you will think that he does God service” (John 16:2).
Pastor is not at all interested in restoration – he wants capitulation. His motto is “No Negotiation”. He demands that we/you/they obey. He has your wife, husband, kids, family, and therefore you will do what he says or you will not have access to your family. He forces people to lie in order to be with their loved ones. Like the pharisees of old, he uses Scriptures to destroy the people.
But God says, “Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, ‘You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all’” (Mark 10:42-44). “He replied, ‘The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.’ They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents. His parents answered them and said, ‘We know he is our son,’ the parents answered, ‘and we know he was born blind. But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.’ His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue” (John 9:11,18, 20-22).
All good liars know you must be believable. Good guys are believable. Pastor capitalizes on this tactic by using the writings and reputations of believers who are widely respected in Christendom. He prefers men like Fenelon and Augustine, but a bigger draw is quoting from men such as A W Tozer and Jerry Bridges. The youth group names such as Francis Chan, Ray Comfort, C. T. Studd, etc., and publications like the Voice of the Martyrs. These are all good, legitimate sources, but all of these sources would reprove us for the wicked deeds we practice in our church. Deeds of putting away, lying, divorce, haughtiness, lust, cruelty, theft, covetousness, division, hypocrisy, strife.
But God says, “If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin” (John 15:22). “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works” (2 Corinthians 11:13-15). “For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise. For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face” (2 Corinthians 11:19-20).
The practice of deception is not occasional or accidental in our church. It is a studied art. Pastor has spent years carefully crafting his words and ways to abide within the retaining walls of doctrine, tradition and the law. One way he imparts his lies to us is through repetition. He tells us over and over again what to do or not to do. Examples:
- “Lets go over this one more time. When you write out your tuition check for your kids here at the school, do not put tuition on the memo portion of your check. Put ‘DT offering’. We are not a school.”
- “How many times do I have to tell you all? You cannot help these people – we have spent hours trying. Stay away from them. Do not talk to them.”
- “We are under satanic attack – do not read the letters you receive in the mail. Do not read stuff on the internet. We will tell you what you need to know.”
But God says, “Who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets and also drove us out. They displease God and are hostile to everyone in their effort to keep us from speaking to the Gentiles so that they may be saved. In this way they always heap up their sins to the limit. The wrath of God has come upon them at last” (1 Thessalonians 2:15-16). “For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as those approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please people but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed—God is our witness. We were not looking for praise from people, not from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have asserted our authority. Instead, we were like young children among you. Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well. Surely you remember, brothers and sisters, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you. You are witnesses, and so is God, of how holy, righteous and blameless we were among you who believed. For you know that we dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children” (1 Thessalonians 2:3-11).
“If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck” (The Duck Test).

But God says, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” (2 Peter 3:9-11, 17,18).

Many have tried to do pastor’s bidding – to be restored to their families. They come and go with more burdens placed upon them. His judgments are capricious, unknowable, unjust. He stands in the pulpit, protesting his own goodness and mercy. But in private, he derides, divides, defames and destroys those who come seeking his pardon. He mocks the pawns (people) who slavishly offer up their adoration and loyalty. He has made himself accountable to no man and above the Word of God.
But God says, “And he said, Woe unto you also, ye lawyers! for ye lade men with burdens grievous to be borne, and ye yourselves touch not the burdens with one of your fingers” (Luke 11:46). “Shall I count them pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights? For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their mouth…For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people” (Micah 6:11-12,16). “And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you:whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not” (2 Peter 2:2-3).
