To Blackmail or Not to Blackmail- That Is the Question

Blackmail (verb) – Google search engine

  • force (someone) to do something by using threats or manipulating their feelings.
    synonyms: coerce, pressurize, pressure, force
informal lean on, put the screws on, twist someone’s arm

Ah hah! It’s elementary, my dear Watson. Look at the clues, dear fellow! Strange silence of associate Pastors and deacons who have left the fold of Calvary Temple, and never looked back. Fearful families who whisper of misdeeds by Pastor Scott/cronies with a caveat “Don’t mention my name. I want to see my parents/kids/siblings occasionally.” Playing along to get along. For an illusive/abusive relationship per Pastor’s permission. Look at the father who was cut off because he would not be silent. Look at the mothers who buckled under pressure of not having their kids. Look at the kids who crawled back, broke in body/soul/spirit, in order to see their family.

Then the eternal label of Repentant Sinner/Prodigal is applied. Eulogized. Silent sinner stands/smiles/waves. Offers worship to the Great god Pastor Scott. “He brought me to my knees. To the end of myself/my pride.” (Because Pastor withheld all family relationships from You.) Bull. It’s Blackmail buster. To quote Pastor, “Stand still and see the
Glory of god [little ‘g’].”

But God says, “A righteous man falling down before the wicked is as a troubled fountain, and a corrupt spring” (Proverbs 25:26). “Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame; wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever…How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit” (Jude 13,18-19). “Love worketh no ill to his neighbour:therefore love is the fulfilling of the law” (Romans 13:10).

"Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths." Ezekiel 3:17-18 NLT
