It’s Our cross in this Life. A Noble Burden. To Bear Long with with Our vile/disgusting relatives who have shamed us by their Rebellion to Pastor (our Little god). Over the years/in covert Counseling Coups-Pastor has taken Every Opportunity to Slam/deride/debunk/divide/defame/besmirch/insinuate/slander our dearly departed Blood Relatives who had/have any Hold on our Affections.
‘Your husband is a little man. Your wife thinks too highly of herself. Your sister/brother are vile/rebellious/profane. Your dad/mom are leaven. Your friend is carnal. Your kids are reprobate. Your brother is demonic. Your grandparents want you to serve another god. Your relatives are in idolatry.’ Yada, yada. Lies. Lies. Repeat it till We Believe it. However (drumroll please):
After hearing all this Vomit year by year, with long looks of pity from our Fellows of False Christianity, we Own it. Yup. Hard to believe. But we swallow the Vomit and make it a Burden we must bear. Believing lies about our nearest/dearest. Meanwhile Pastor Prima-Dona, takes his Unlawful place on the Throne of our Broken hearts. And we bow and worship the Lord of Lies. And bear in Silence, the Noble Burden of being blood relatives of Bad guys. Until that Last Twinge of Conscience is Wiped away. And our hearts are Petrified Monuments to the Devil who came to Steal/Kill/Destroy. And we let him. Delude us. Into believing it was Our Noble Burden.
But God says, “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh” (Matthew 12:34). “And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts” (Matthew 9:3,4). “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: These are the things which defile a man:but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man” (Matthew 15:18-20). “Whoso rewardeth evil for good, evil shall not depart from his house” (Proverbs 17:13).
