Leaving On A Jet Plane (Ode To a Pricey Pastor)

Your bags are packed. You are ready to go?
Hey please don’t bother waking us from our dream state.
Just go.
Lonesome? Wanna die? What you sow you reap, as they say.
Kiss of Judas? No thanks man.
We will smile when we wake from our nightmare.
Wait for you? Hold you? Naw. It’s ok. We’re good.
Just leave. Go.
We don’t want to know when you’ll be back. Please.
Babe? She wants you to go too.
Yeah. You’ve let us down. Understatement of the year.
Yeah. You’ve played around. Save it for the Judge.
Believe you? You meant it? Ha. Are you lying again?
Every place we go. We’ll try to forget you.
Every song we sing. Will be a dirge for our lost LO’s.
If you come back. Please bring us chains to bind you with.
Or kiss the kiss of death.
Rejoice! O people at the pitiful end of A Worm of a man.
We won’t hold you anymore.
We want you to go.
Go. Pastor. Go.

But God says, “For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners…Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned” (Isaiah 14:13-17, 20).

"Son of man, I have appointed you as a watchman for Israel. Whenever you receive a message from me, warn people immediately. If I warn the wicked, saying, ‘You are under the penalty of death,’ but you fail to deliver the warning, they will die in their sins. And I will hold you responsible for their deaths." Ezekiel 3:17-18 NLT
