But God says, “Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears” (Acts 20:26-31).
Oh dear?! How shall I tell these CT people apart? My CT neighbor is so nice! My CT co-worker works so hard! Who do I trust?
None. Nada. Zero. Zippo.
Pawns allow perpetrators to do their dastardly deeds. Do not accept our ‘fishy’ stories, full of bones. You just may get a fishbone stuck in your throat, and then what?
Oh dear?! Anyone nearby proficient in the use of the Heimlich Maneuver?
But God says, “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars: And hast borne, and hast patience, and for my name’s sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted” (Revelation 2:2-3). “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears” (Acts 20:29-31). “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15).
The golden rule – do unto others as you do unto yourself. Would you let yourself walk into a trap? Would you let your family be destroyed by a religious conman and his paid henchmen? Of course not. Many decent guys have managed to get their families out of Calvary Temple in tact and relatively unhurt. When they saw the danger. But why silence now? Someone said, “Silence is the residue of fear.” It is definitely not golden. The only people that thrive in silence are the wicked. As long as they can silence you, their wicked deeds can go undetected. More trusting people will fall prey to their lying lips and deceitful charm. Who will speak up? Who will defend those appointed to slaughter? Who will sound a cry of alarm? Speak up.
But God says, “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul” (Ezekiel 3:18-19). “Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears” (Acts 20:26-27,29-31). “When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah. I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah” (Psalms 32:3-5).
When pastor no longer can rely on our silence,he resorts to threatenings (via the leadership). Veiled threats of dragging folks into court for “slander” if they reveal the facts of what goes on here. This effective tactic has muzzled many a good person who has left Calvary Temple in the past. Sounds like Saul prior to his conversion on the road to Damascus. The Pharisees’ way of control was threatenings, stoning, putting out of the synagogue. Jesus’ was of control is Love and Truth. He never threatens anyone. Ever.
But God says, “Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way” (Romans 14:13). “Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones” (Luke 17:1-2). “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in” (Matthew 23:13). “Thou shalt not curse the deaf, nor put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord” (Leviticus 19:14). “But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication” (Revelation 2:14).
Pastor and leadership, stop putting stumbling blocks in the way of people, causing them to sin.
The aggressive behavior of some of our leadership is legendary; either through first hand experience or rumors. Because close friends of Pastor will not be subjected to this tactic, it serves as a method of crowd control. A bid to baffle and keep all of us uneasy. After being shouted at by Pastor, we are often shell-shocked, offer a few respectful protests, then are silent. The scorn which we (especially the ladies) are treated in these private meetings is debilitating. We become desperate for Pastor’s favor, although we have done nothing wrong. We “stand down” to the manipulation/abuse in order to re-obtain our imaginary unity.
Bludgeoned into accepting Pastor’s verdict. Longing to see the “good cop” once again. Confused, coerced, cornered and finally cooperating with something that deep down, we know is wrong. Sinning against our own conscience. WARNING: do not agree with what you know is wrong. Stand your ground, and having done all, stand. (Ephesians 6:13,14)
But God says, “So I always take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man” (Acts 24:16). “I am speaking the truth in Christ—I am not lying; my conscience bears me witness in the Holy Spirit” (Romans 9:1). “For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicity and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you” (2 Corinthians 1:12). “The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith” (1 Timothy 1:5).
