Train Up A Child…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yZEthbVpjY&feature=youtu.be

…in the way they should go and when they are old they will not depart. A tutorial on our “way” of training. So if we have a rather strong willed kid in our midst, they are repeatedly ridiculed, punished, threatened, and finally put out of our church. Love, as real Christians define it, never enters in (Galatians 6:1, Ephesians 6:4). The worst case scenario is being “put away”. Pastor has put away children as young as nine years old. From handing them over to unsaved relatives at a moment’s notice to dropping them off at a bus stop late at night to turning them out in the streets with no money/phone/relatives to go to. Pastor (oh so carefully) chooses the most effective discipline to “break the will” of our kids. Each judgment is tailored (ahem, Spirit-led) to cause the most psychological/emotional harm plus physical discomfort. This, he knows, will produce a traumatized and willingly submissive kid crawling back on hands and knees to be “forgiven and restored”. His methods of training are destructive and dangerous. His success rate depends on the parents resolve to go along with his charade. Some parents delight in cruelty (Ephesians 6:4), others beg for leniency. And if the parents are well-connected (i.e. deacon, friend/relative of pastor, etc.) they will get their strong-willed kid back relatively unharmed. However, the list of abandoned kids has gotten pretty long over the years. But don’t you know? Vampires are not human and wolves in sheep’s clothing are not sheep. Wolves and sheep do not think alike. One wants to eat you, the other wants to graze on grass.

But God says, “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage…But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews” (Galatians 2:4,14). “For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face” (2 Corinthians 11:20). “I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars…But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth” (Revelation 2:2, 14-16).

Parents, we live in an evil world. God Himself warns us saying that it would get worse. Our pastor plays on real and natural concerns you have for the spiritual wellbeing of your kids. He promotes Calvary Temple as a mecca of all things good, pure, healthy, and godly. It is false advertising. Calvary Temple is a graveyard of broken and destroyed families. Whitewashed by unsuspecting youth, who parrot pastor’s agenda, in order to lure in more unsuspecting families and young adults. Leaving a trail of evil, sorrow, and despair behind him. He will keep your children. He has done it repeatedly. Beware.

But God says, “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness” (Matthew 23:27). “Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies” (Psalm 40:4). “Who is among you that feareth the Lord, that obeyeth the voice of his servant, that walketh in darkness, and hath no light? let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God” (Isaiah 50:10).

The “Love” of Cain – (gulp)

We all have propagated the lie – “No church has ever loved me as much as Calvary Temple.” (Love bombing is a bit more accurate.) It’s not genuine love of Christ. We are just doing what is required by Pastor in order to keep us from fleeing in droves. Not everyone here is a willing participant. Some are coerced into destroying – and some (about 40%) are destroyed. But always under the banner of “this is the love of God to you.” Right…more like the love of Cain for Abel.

But God says, “If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other” (Galatians 5:15). “For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous” (1 John 3:11,12).

In Greek, the word “love” (from 1 John 3:11) is “agapaó” and it means, “To welcome, to entertain, to be fond of, to love dearly, brotherly love, good will, benevolence.”

The Dictator

Pastor is not at all interested in restoration – he wants capitulation. His motto is “No Negotiation”. He demands that we/you/they obey. He has your wife, husband, kids, family, and therefore you will do what he says or you will not have access to your family. He forces people to lie in order to be with their loved ones. Like the pharisees of old, he uses Scriptures to destroy the people.

But God says, “Calling them to Himself, Jesus said to them, ‘You know that those who are recognized as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them; and their great men exercise authority over them. But it is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant; and whoever wishes to be first among you shall be slave of all’” (Mark 10:42-44). “He replied, ‘The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.’ They still did not believe that he had been blind and had received his sight until they sent for the man’s parents. His parents answered them and said, ‘We know he is our son,’ the parents answered, ‘and we know he was born blind.  But how he can see now, or who opened his eyes, we don’t know. Ask him. He is of age; he will speak for himself.’ His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jewish leaders, who already had decided that anyone who acknowledged that Jesus was the Messiah would be put out of the synagogue” (John 9:11,18, 20-22).

The Great and Powerful Oz

Just follow the yellow brick road…do you recall how the Wizard of Oz had people shaking in terror as he bellowed out his messages (smoke and mirrors)? There is some concern lest self-righteous individuals think all those Calvary weirdos get what they deserve. Consider Dorothy and her faithful companions were ignorant of being duped – they revered the great Oz – and so it is in the land of Calvary Temple.

Here we have a group of fifty-somethings who came to Pastor Scott in his heyday. But unlike faithful Toto, they never ventured to pull aside the curtain and see the man behind. Largely loyal and willingly passive, the greatest sin they have is allowing a man to teach their children and young adults secretly to do evil deeds (without asking any questions). How many parents sit in on our youth groups or young adult groups? They have given up the right to parent, unfortunately, to one who is unworthy to be in the same room as children. Blind obedience is a killer.

However, the Cowardly Lion, Straw Man, and Tin Man, finally stood up to the great Oz – it’s just about time that the men and women of Calvary do the same.

But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues; And ye shall be brought before governors and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them and the Gentiles. But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:17-19; 28).

Oh My People…

…think about these verses in regards to our church: “Run to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, look and take note! Search her squares to see if you can find a man, one who does justice and seeks truth, that I may pardon her. Though they say, ‘As the Lord lives,’ yet they swear falsely. O Lord, do not your eyes look for truth? You have struck them down, but they felt no anguish; you have consumed them, but they refused to take correction. They have made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to repent” (Jeremiah 5:1-3). “An appalling and horrible thing has happened in the land: the prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests rule at their direction; my people love to have it so, but what will you do when the end comes?“(Jeremiah 5:30-31).

What will we do in the end?

Our Lord is coming quickly.
