Reconnaissance Work

Our Feeble Forays into Forbidden Territory. Pastor wrestles with his Guilty conscience. Awkward! We are Not familiar with Righting our Wrongs. Long silences as we mentally rehearse a kinder/gentler Doctrine to those fallen by the Wayside. Kicked there. To be accurate. The great Dilemma. How to show sadness/sorrow/tears for ‘Killing’ the rebellious ones who Angered our Great god/lord/master Pastor? I know, I know! Oo oo, pick me! Just tell them it was ‘Friendly Fire’. Let’s Rehearse: “You were caught in the Crossfire, and gee we sure didn’t Mean it. Are you ok now? We are fine. Pastor has taken good care of us. So let’s let bygones be bygones. Ok? Actually, it’s slim pickings lately around here. And we Need you. Uh, now. Please pretend with us that we are the Good Guys, and you are the Reformed Bad Guys.”

Our hearts are hard. We cannot blush for shame. Our works are renowned for their Treachery. Destroying those who loved us Most. Our own Family. We ‘killed/devoured’ our own. Do we even know How to Repent? Sigh. Jesus is not happy. With us.

But God says, “And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you. But of these who seemed to be somewhat, (whatsoever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me” (Galatians 2:4-6).
