Satan’s Tactics [again]

“Satan’s tactics are to get you and accuse those that are over you in the Lord to get you to lose confidence in those who are over you in spiritual authority” (Pastor Scott)

Man, o man. Paul was a usurper of apostolic authority! He accused those that were over him in the Lord! He was using Satan’s tactics! He caused the saints of Jesus Christ to lose confidence in their spiritual leaders! Oh, woe is me! How did the church survive such a divisive onslaught against the ordained authority figures?! Paul should have been struck down by God and killed! Dead as a doornail, brother!

Oh. Right. He was struck down by God. Blinded. And God did all that because?mI know, I know! To punish him, make the guy squirm for his sins! [Cruel mocking laughter…] Actually, no. It was to get his attention, ask him a question, and then proceed to heal him and ordain him to go preach the Gospel of Jesus to the world. C’mon Pastor, you have got to come up with some new and better ways to get us to not snoop around and talk to the people you don’t want us to talk to. All to find out the nasty things you have been doing and Lying about to us. Sigh and double sigh.

But God says, “And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision. Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was forward to do.┬áBut when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed…And the other Jews dissembled likewise with him; insomuch that Barnabas also was carried away with their dissimulation.┬áBut when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said unto Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews” (Galatians 2:9-11, 13-14). “And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest…And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do…And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel” (Acts 9:1, 4-6, 14-15).
